Translation Resources Seminar
26 September 2011 - 29 September 2011
Increasingly, the resources and skills needed for effective translation are becoming more sophisticated and diverse. To address the need for such resources and skills, the Nida Institute convened a seminar around three topics: audience, localization, and technology. The seminar determined that audiences are increasingly niche populations; that localization is a strategy for dismantling colonial-era ideologies and practices; and that technology will reduce development costs, speed products to market, increase functionality, and boost user friendliness.
